Eurydicestice
Eurydicestice is a fantasy comic currently in early writing stages. It's once again a somewhat? romance
with communication issues because it's my least favorite trope ever no seriously i hate ittt guys trust me
As some background, at Eurydicestice, (meant to be a university or school for young adults, for context,)
four magical fighters are chosen every four years to compete in a tournament
against other schools. They are chosen based on magical ability and academic status.
Pre-Story
Before the story begins, Princess, Amity, and our main character Reggie were close friends, often messing with
each other using their magic. Reggie, being flirty and outgoing, often flirted with the other two.
They
take their antics too far one day when they decide to have Amity help them create a love potion for Princess, meant
to be a one-off gag. However, Reggie begins to develop feelings as Princess is under this spell. Nothing really
comes of it, but Princess isn't snapped out of it until days later.
Reasonably, Princess is pissed off and
uncomfortable with the severety of the prank, and chooses not to speak to Reggie anymore, worried that he was
trying to take advantage of her. nothing happened, as a reminder - and this story is not meant to
glamorize drugging people. they're just purelily style if you catch my drift.
Princess Joins Top Four
Until Junior year, the Top Four had consisted of Reggie, Amity, Keegan and Eve. However, during a battle at
the end of sophmore year, Eve injured herself badly and is unable to compete in the junior year tournament. She
instead works with the student council.
Now in need of a replacement, the principal decides that Princess is
a good fit for the role, and she accepts confidently, but not without recognizing who she'd have to face.
Reggie and Princess's relationship remains strained for a while, until Amity interferes and eventually everything
is worked out for the most part - but not without a bit of tension. Princess slowly forgives Reggie as they try
to make up for their actions as they train together.
Lolani Subplot
Lolani, the council's school president, is the daughter of the principal. During the entirety of the Top Four's
training, she is working hard to make sure everything is under control, along with acting as a healer for the team
off of the battlefield. Her mother is extremely controlling, and this along with her massive work load begins to
take a heavy toll on her.
Towards the beginning of the story, she is standoffish, rude, and rarely speaks to
the Top Four members. Slowly, she begins to open up with each of them, especially Princess. By the time the
tournament comes around, she is close with all four members.
The Tournament...
During the tournament, the Top Four defeat the first school with little problems, but during the second battle,
Reggie is badly injured, causing them to pass out and for the team to be defeated. Lolani is unable to heal them -
but he makes a steady recovery outside of the battlefield. The constant strain of magic use and training had begun
to wear all of the members down, but Lolani's mother was just as controlling of them as she was with her daughter.
Once Reggie recovers, Lolani's mother immediately wants them back on the battlefield, obsessed with the idea of
redemption and winning the tournament. Lolani, being fed up, decides to turn in her badge and quit.
The rest of the members slowly begin to turn in as well, starting with Princess. They leave and the tournament
is called off.
Post-Tournament
Plot-wise, the story ends with the Top Four leaving and moving on to dedicate time to their own interests. Things are kept vague on purpose, but if I were to come up with a definitive answer I would probably make Lolani and Princess kiss. And Keegan would get more screen time.
